Development of a personal oxygen delivery system for aerial operations for aircrew and passengers.

Source

Source summary

Helicopters without built-in oxygen require aircrew and passengers to carry independent supply. The challenge asks for a lightweight body-carried system that works up to 22,000 feet for about 90 minutes, supports nasal and pressurised delivery, uses easily replaced and rechargeable bottles, varies flow for pilots and passengers, and gives vibration and audible warnings for pressure or breathing faults. It must also be certified for carriage and use across the helicopter flight envelope, including unpressurised transport and rapid decompression.
