Madam, OTP?

The idea
Deliveries and pickups interrupt remote purchasers when the person receiving a parcel cannot complete the platform's verification process. Source-proposed direction: Design household delegation and delivery verification that also meet platform trust requirements.
Why this is interesting
- Delivery verification is designed around the purchaser, even when another household member, guard or colleague receives the parcel.
- Sharing an OTP informally solves the immediate problem but weakens the platform’s record of who was authorized to receive what.
- A better delegation method could reduce interruptions while preserving limits, evidence and revocation.
Possible starting points
Named household recipients
Allow a purchaser to authorize specific people, locations or order types before delivery.
Building-level delivery handoff
Coordinate parcel receipt with guards or reception desks while preserving an auditable chain of custody.
Platform verification layer
Give commerce and logistics providers reusable, revocable delegation controls.
Questions to answer
- Which deliveries fail or interrupt purchasers most often because the receiver is different?
- What evidence does the merchant or logistics platform require during a dispute?
- Can delegated access remain convenient without becoming permanent or transferable?
